As of 8-30-2007 the situation with CW Custom Builders has not improved. We have tried to open lines of communication with them, but at every opportunity, CW has closed the door of rationality. To read about CW Custom Builders' unwillingness to work with us to resolve issues, take a moment to read over the email thread here.

New Problems:

The condenser pump in the basement has already failed. We luckily went down there within a day of it overflowing, and found the water on the floor. CW Custom Builders uses low quality equipment and parts that simply don't last...not even a year!

The ball valve on the main water line that CW installed, has already broken. We wasted over 2 hours trying to figure out why our water wouldn't work, only to find out that a part that is not even a year old has already broken.

Specific Updates:

Water Leaks Details: The only good news to report, is that we opened up the walls and found no mold, thank Heavens. The bad news is that we now have a major leak that is causing the tape to fall off the ceiling. This is the same leak that we have emailed photographs of to Linda (as you can read here), and the very same leak that Adam has already "fixed" several months ago. He refused to believe me when I told him that the leak was from the roof, and tried to pass off the moisture as condensation. As you can see with these photos, this is now a major problem that will require significant amounts of sheet rock to be replaced.

Inflexible Builder: We asked the builder to allow us to supply our own grass seed, and were flatly denied. Well, after many hours of seeding, cultivating and spraying chemicals, there are still vast expanses of dirt where I cannot get anything (not even crab grass) to grow. Interestingly enough, the areas where we brought in topsoil are growing very well.

Drainage Problems: The drainage in our backyard never improved. Despite repeatedly attempting to have C.W. Custom Builders fix the improperly done grading, and CW chalking it up to "the wet season", we had to put in a retaining wall, and have someone come fix the drainage. What a difference! Now we can use the backyard and not sink in to our ankles in foul-smelling, algae-coverd mud.
